The ResQ Pantry

The ResQ Pantry offers support to families in need, assisting with the purchase of pet food and essentials to maintain their pets' well-being. The program aims to prevent pets from being surrendered by owners facing financial difficulties. It primarily serves the community in the Eastern Panhandle of West Virginia, but rescue organizations and foster caregivers can also seek assistance.

Individuals in need of assistance from the ResQ Pantry must complete a one-time registration form before being eligible for help. Applicants should use the application link provided below. They may need to demonstrate financial need and/or a record of responsible pet ownership. It is important to note that the brands supplied by the ResQ Pantry may vary from those the applicant currently uses.

Key requirements to determine eligibility for the ResQ Pantry program include: 

1. Applicants are required to show evidence of financial need or hardship and might be asked to submit supporting documents.
2. Applicants must be at least 18 years old. 
3. Pets should serve as companions and not be part of breeding or illegal activities.
4. All pets are required to be spayed or neutered. To the ResQ provides assistance for these procedures when needed.
5. Pets should live in a healthy environment with good living conditions, ideally indoors. When outdoors, they require proper shelter and protection from the elements. Assistance for cat colonies is available, albeit limited.
6. Recipients of the ResQ Pantry program are required to agree not to acquire any additional pets while receiving assistance, as doing so may jeopardize their continued support.
7. It should be noted that the donated pet food and supplies might not always match the brand currently in use. Efforts will be made to meet your pet's specific dietary requirements whenever feasible.
8. The recipient agrees to not hold The ResQ Pantry, To the ResQ, or any of its volunteers and benefactors legally responsible should their pet(s) become ill or encounter problems due to the change in food or use of any donated items.
9. Recipients are required to agree that they will not resell, redistribute, or attempt to return any food or care items obtained from the ResQ Pantry to a store.
10. The recipient will provide us with a photo of the pets in need of assistance.

Donated food and goods are provided at no cost to approved applicants of the ResQ Pantry. Supporters who wish to contribute can do so by visiting our Amazon Wish List or by using the donation button on our homepage to assist with the ResQ Pantry program.
