The ResQ Pantry

The ResQ Pantry offers support to families in need, assisting with the purchase of pet food and essentials to maintain their pets' well-being. The program aims to prevent pets from being surrendered by owners facing financial difficulties. It primarily serves the community in the Eastern Panhandle of West Virginia, but rescue organizations and foster caregivers can also seek assistance.

Individuals in need of assistance from the ResQ Pantry must complete a one-time registration form before being eligible for help. Applicants should use the application link provided below. They may need to demonstrate financial need and/or a record of responsible pet ownership. It is important to note that the brands supplied by the ResQ Pantry may vary from those the applicant currently uses.

Key requirements to determine eligibility for the ResQ Pantry program include: 

1. Recipients must demonstrate financial need or hardship, and may need to provide documentation. 
2. Applicants must be at least 18 years old. 
3. Pets should serve as companions; breeding or involvement in illegal activities is prohibited.
4. All pets must be spayed or neutered. To the ResQ offers support for these procedures if necessary. 
5. Pets must be living in a healthy environment and good living conditions, preferably primarily indoors. If outside, there must be adequate housing and protection from the elements. Assistance is available for outdoor cat colonies. 
6. ResQ Pantry program recipients must agree not to take on any additional pets while receiving assistance.
7. The recipient should understand that the donated pet food and supplies may not always be the current brand used. Every attempt to accommodate your pet's special dietary needs will be made when possible. 
8. The recipient must agree not to hold The ResQ Pantry, To the ResQ, or any of its volunteers and benefactors legally liable in the unfortunate event your pet(s) become ill or have issues related to the food change or use of any donated items. 
9. The recipients must agree not to resell, redistribute or attempt to return to a store, any food or care items received from the ResQ Pantry. 
10. The recipient will provide us with a photo of the pets in need of assistance.

12. Pets should live in a healthy environment with good living conditions, ideally indoors. For outdoor pets, proper shelter and protection from the elements are required. Support is available for outdoor cat colonies. 
13. Participants in the ResQ Pantry program must not acquire additional pets while receiving assistance.
14. Recipients must acknowledge that the pet food and supplies provided may differ from their usual brands, and that efforts will be made to meet special dietary needs when possible. 
15. Recipients must agree to release The ResQ Pantry, To the ResQ, and all associated volunteers and benefactors from legal liability should their pet(s) become ill or encounter issues due to the change in food or use of donated items. 
16. Recipients must not sell, redistribute, or attempt to return any items received from the ResQ Pantry to a store. 
17. Recipients are expected to provide a photo of the pets requiring assistance.
